Located in the Kootenay's, West Arm Provincial Park spreads out over 25,319 ha (acres) and is mostly undeveloped. Potential activities include hiking, water sports, canoeing, kayaking and skiing. Wilderness camping is permitted but there are no facilities.

Lakeside Park
Nelson Lakeside Park is connected to the city wharf by a waterfront pathway and antique Streetcar #23. Nelson artist John McKinnon has scultpure displayed in the park, and annuals bloom in the gardens throughout the year.

Kokanee Creek Provincial Park
Hiking, fishing, boating, and camping is all available at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park. There are two campgrounds in the park, and a boat launch is located near the eastern park boundary. Picnic areas and changehouses are also located here.
